Our Location
The Rag is situated on the outskirts of Prospect Village, near Rawnsley in Staffordshire. Easily accessible, we are close to all major road networks – the M6 Toll is just five minutes away – with easy access to the NEC and Birmingham Airport.
We are just a 10 minute drive from the Cathedral City of Lichfield, the birthplace of Samuel Johnson. Also close by is Beaudesert Golf Club, which has a challenging 18 hole championship course used for British Open qualifying rounds for many years.
Twenty minutes away is Drayton Manor Park and Zoo, and a 45 minute drive takes you to Alton Towers, the Midlands’ premier amusement park.
From Hednesford:
Travel through Littleworth on the Littleworth Road, at the T-junction with the road from Hazelslade, turn right and follow the road.
At the edge of Prospect Village before entering the national speed limit zone, take the turning on your left, Ironstone Road.
As you follow this road you will see The Rag on your right hand side, opposite New Hayes Road.
From Burntwood:
The Rag can be approached from a number of directions, however if you were travelling from Swan Island at Burntwood, you would travel on the A5190 towards Cannock.
At the main traffic lights at Chase Terrace (Sankey’s Corner, Burntwood Library would be situated on your left), turn right onto Rugeley Road.
Proceed on this road heading for Rawnsley.
After leaving the residential area the road drops down and then just before it starts to climb back up take the turning on your left, Severns Road.
At the end of this road, turn right.
On following this road, you will notice signage indicating the reduction of the speed limit to 30.
Just after entering the 30 mph zone take the right turning, Ironstone Road.
Follow this road and The Rag is located on your right hand side, opposite New Hayes Road on your left.
